Autism Dad: Autism & Optimism

You have been with me during my darkest days. So I am happy to report that 2012 is off to a great start. And I am feeling good!

1. Took the boys to the park on New Year’s Day. Ben climbed unassisted to the top of the giant rock for the first time. How’s that for a New Year’s metaphor!

2. Have eeg and MRI scheduled for Ben in Feb. Hoping it will enlighten us.

3. Better sit down, this one’s a biggie: I have a job! Yep, all your prayers and thoughts came through for me in the end. I start tomorrow with a cool PR/advertising agency!

4. I am coming out with an ebook later this month called “Fake it ’til you make it: On becoming an Autism Dad.” More on this later!

5. It’s a gorgeous San Diego morning. I am with my boys. My dad is doing just fine, and soon we will all go out to lunch together. As I sit here typing, I feel the warmth of the sun on my face.

Life is good. Wishing you a new year filled with goodness and greatness!

Hey Mary — Thanks so much. Yes, I feel that the gloom is lifting. So much of my issues have been tied to being out of work. The news couldn’t come at a better time. Looking forward to staying in touch. Happy New Year!!!

  5. That is great news, including getting the job! I think I may have found a source for lucky Powerball numbers and his initials are A.D.

Ha! I love it — maybe I should do the same and then I wouldn’t have to get a job :). Thanks for your cute comment! Here’s hoping the luck is contagious!

Thank you! It really feels too good to be true. I don’t think I ever truly appreciated having a job until I didn’t have one. I see it through new eyes now!! Happy New Year!!
